Proton momentum and angular momentum decompositions with overlap fermions

We present a calculation of the proton momentum and angular decompositions using overlap fermions on $2+1$-flavor RBC/UKQCD domain-wall lattice at 0.143 fm with pion mass 171 MeV which is close to physical one. A complete determination fractions carried by up, down, strange, glue inside has been done valence masses varying from 391 MeV. have utilized fast Fourier transform stochastic-sandwich method for connected-insertion parts cluster-decomposition error reduction technique disconnected-insertion used reduce statistical errors. The full nonperturbative renormalization mixing between quark operators are out. final results normalized sum rules reported $\overline{\mathrm{MS}}(\ensuremath{\mu}=2\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV})$. renormalized quarks $⟨x{⟩}^{q}=0.491(20)(23)$ $⟨x{⟩}^{g}=0.509(20)(23)$, respectively, total $2{J}^{q}=0.539(22)(44)$ $2{J}^{g}=0.461(22)(44)$, respectively. spin fraction $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Sigma}}=0.405(25)(37)$ our previous work orbital deduced $2{L}^{q}=2{J}^{q}\ensuremath{-}\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Sigma}}$ be 0.134(22)(44).

Interplay of spin and orbital angular momentum in the proton.

We derive the consequences of the Myhrer-Thomas explanation of the proton spin problem for the distribution of orbital angular momentum on the valence and sea quarks. After QCD evolution, these results are found to be in very good agreement with both recent lattice QCD calculations and the experimental constraints from Hermes and JLab.
